Murfreesboro Post

It is crazy too see how much the article put in the Post ( I saw it online in editing class but am not sure if it was in print or not) has blown up. I am pretty sure it has even been taken offline, otherwise I would post it. The funniest thing about the whole situation is it was a principal from Smyrna that wrote it. At first glance it did not seem too racist, but after reading it a couple more times I changed my view on it. Not a very smart career move Mr. Principal!

President-Elect

I am so happy to see that America is possibly moving forward and opening up to all people with less racism. However, it has also been very suprising and sad to me to see the comments people have been making on their social web pages. Just when you think we are progressing maybe we are still regressing... I'm not sure but the article below gives me some hope.

Sad Story

There was a man in the West Hollywood area that put up a "halloween decoration" that had a Sarah Palin look-alike doll hanging by a noose. I just can't believe that someone would do that and it makes me wonder if our society has really progressed as much as we thought. It also brings up the question of if the incident would be reported on more if it was Obama? I don't know the answer, but I think it should be taken just as serious either way.

ohhh yeeeaaa

Colin Powell has officially endorsed Obama for President. People have been weary of Obama's ability to handle foreign affairs and conflicts, but I think this at least shows that if Powell endorses him over his own party than he must be a better choice than we think.

wow

Someone told me last week that I should not vote for Obama because he was secretly a Muslim trying to infiltrate the U.S government so Al Qaeda could take over from the inside. Ignorance amazes me.

Presidential Debate

First off, i know this is kind of out dated but for some reason I do not see 2 of my past blogs on here so I am just going to write about what I previously thought I wrote about. The debate which aired in the town hall format at Belmont was good, but it didn't seem to answer many questions.... just the same things we have been hearing. I noticed that Barack seemed very prepared and knew what to say, while McCain looked at his noticed quite often. I am getting tired of all the mud slinging and I wish the election would just get over with so we could start making some real changes.
